AJ

Gifted with a political savvy rarely found outside of DC and the knowledge of celebrity gossip typical only in LA-dwelling Variety editors, AJ is the Femmeiniste with her finger on the pulse. Of society, of the current news story, of Brangelina’s child rearing choices … The subject almost doesn’t matter – AJ is informed, articulate and entertaining.  Or at least that’s what her mother tells her.

Toiling happily in a relatively staid position working for the marketing Man/Woman, AJ is happy to have the disposable time and income (more on this relief in a bit) to indulge in her favorite pastimes: obsessively scouring Sephora for the perfect beigey-pink lipgloss (a hint of brown is key) and self-tanner, scouring the internet for the latest and greatest in the dirty world of politics (which often feeds a rabid hatred of Sarah Palin), and, well … drinking. She’s developed a plethora of knowledge in all three areas, and she’s excited to share her insights on Femmeiniste.

Prior to joining the world of marketing, AJ graduated from a liberal arts college with the ultimate degree in uselessness (a double major in English and History), then hit the streets of Manhattan, determined to make it big in the world of publishing. Three years of indentured servitude (assistant positions to some of the world’s craziest editors and publishers) effectively dimmed the stars in young AJ’s eyes. “Fuck this,” she thought, and got the hell out of “Devil Wears Prada” land.

A study in contradictions, AJ is just as likely to be reading lengthy historical biographies of obscure figures in British history as she is to be scanning the pages of Star Magazine. She has a freakish memory for the lyrics to just about every song ever written (and can provide testimonials to that effect on request), but has lost her keys/wallet/passport/any combo thereof approximately 10 times in the past two years. Disclaimer: alcohol may or may not have been involved in all these losses.

AJ came to New York by way of California (Dude!) and Texas (Y’all!). Most of her family is moderately conservative, so she tries to keep an open mind to the world outside liberal Sodom and Gomorrah, but she makes no guarantees that she won’t get feisty from time to time.
