Today’s Stroll Through Adam

So I said a week and a half ago that I wasn’t yet enticed by light summery fabrics?  Consider that officially over.  The weather, having been briefly glorious, has gone back to being below-average for this time of year in the Northeast, but those few days of eighty degree weather broke me.  I am now full-steam-ahead onto summer wear.

Having moved on to summer, I made a pass through the Adam website again yesterday to see what’s new.  While I’m still half-heartedly stalking a sweater from the resort collection that is not yet on sale enough for my tastes, I’ve now moved on to thinking that what I really need is either this:

Love the shape, and the print is so summery!

Or this:

The print is so much fun, and I love the colors!

And this skirt (on sale!):

I do love me a miniskirt! And such a perfect color for summer.

Thoughts, ladies?  As I said the other day, I tend to avoid pink since I’m olive-skinned, but I think I can probably get away with either of these prints.  I’m a little torn between the shape of the first top and the print of the second.

I really like the first one. I might like the second one more if the model wasn’t wearing those black shorts with it? The skirt is great.

the first one. the second one makes me think of 1986.

You know, I hadn’t thought of it before, but I believe you have put your finger on my reservation about that top. I like the print but the print in combination with the cut does sort of suggest putting on Wham.

Hmm, yes. The colors of the second top are lovely, but the cut is running that verrry fine line between hip and hipster.

Do you know I like to sit and watch the Golden Girls and point out what’s back in style? Blanche was wearing an ensemble the other day that you could seriously find in almost any Urban Outfitters right now, it was impressive. And Dorothy and her blazers? SEE???

Rose and Sophia kind of stay out of it.

Now this is something worth looking into. The Golden Girls (which I watched obsessively as a child) as arbiters of fashion. I definitely recall Dorothy’s blazers, and Blanche was always wearing these bright silky prints, right?

Rose was in blah pantsuits all the time. Hmm.
