Cravings, Longings and Desires
While I’m thrilled to say that both my diet and my budget have been carefully managed and as successful as possible (I’ve dropped 7 pounds thus far! And haven’t had an ill-advised buying binge in months! Although, those may be related – I’ve cut my drinking way back, and my bad purchasing decisions have historically been fueled by vodka), two unfortunate facts remain:
- I’m still on a strict diet
- I’m still on a strict budget
As I’m no longer allowed to put decadently fantastic things in either my closet or mouth, I’ve taken to trolling the Internet for the sheer vicarious thrill of ogling that which I cannot have. It’s official – the following items, locations and treats are my version of porn:

Dana Kellin Jewelry
Good God, is that not gorgeous? At once earthy and delicate, simple and yet made with a complex wrapping technique. Designer Dana Kellin’s jewelry runs hundreds of dollars, but I would happily pay that for such a great statement piece. You know, if I could afford it.

Shoshanna Dress #1

Shoshanna Dress #2
Shoshanna is that rare label that designs for a body that is almost exactly like mine – a short figure that carries its weight in it’s upper body (boobs). I have yet to find a dress in this line that looks bad on me, and I’m praying that they never change their fit model.
Also, I’m completely enamored with the belt on the second dress. I could get a lot of use out of that.

Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake from Crumb Bake Shop, NYC
Don’t you just want to dive right in?

These Rock & Republic Platform Sandals
Rock & Republic is a brand that does a great shoe – confident, modern and completely wearable. I’m also obsessed with these.

The Kai Shoulder Bag, by Botkier
Ever since I stumbled across this bag, I’ve been mentally designing outfits around it for summer. It’s just too perfect.
Plus, it’s named Kai. It’s a sign, right? She should get it, just so I can pet it.

A hot fudge sundae
When it comes to ice cream, I’m an easy gal to please – one hot fudge sundae, 86 the nuts, extra whipped cream and cherries, please.

Hawaii
I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii. It’s a location that I’ve romanticized and idealized for as long as I can remember, and I would kill to see it for myself.

Those Rock and Republic sandals are beyond lovely. That red! So gorgeous. Ugh.
I loved Hawaii. Sometimes I feel so stupid for going on and on about how much I loved Hawaii, but then I remember it’s Hawaii we’re talking about here and oh my god, I loved Hawaii.
I feel like crying sometimes when I see our vacation pics. I am desperately hoping we can go back soon, but with this crappy economy it just isn’t going to happen. *sighs*
You had to post Hawaii on a day when it rained, huh?
I looooove Rock and Republic’s shoes. They have just enough edge while still being sophisticated. LOVE.
[...] It’s my birthday, and because it’s been an unexpectedly hectic few days leading into today, I don’t have a new post. So I’m subjecting you to a birthday version of Cravings, Longings and Desires. [...]
