Today’s Object of Lust: Spring Jackets
I have to confess: I was a fashion late bloomer. Having grown up surrounded by scientists, the entire concept of fashion didn’t really occur to me until college, and it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I really discovered the wonders of the spring jacket. What more perfect item could there be to pull together an outfit?
Admittedly, I lost my head. My purchases over the course of the last year (provided with additional fuel by a major breakup) included the perfect Vince leather biker jacket, a gorgeous Shipley & Halmos silk trench in ocean blue, and a dainty sky blue Nanette Lepore lady’s coat, in addition to cropped jackets from BCBG and FCUK. And this is just the last year. I am in no need of new spring jackets. Really, I’m not.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t keep me from spending time drooling over the latest spring offerings online. Here are a few of the ones I’m lusting after. Someone, buy these coats. They’re adorable. It will make me feel better about my self-restraint if I know they’re going to a good home…
More fruits of my internet window shopping after the jump.
Thankfully, the cute jackets run the whole range from hock-the-diamonds pricey to fire-sale cheap. This Mandarin-collar jacket is cute even at full price, but on sale? Hm… Maybe I do need new jackets.
The charcoal grey leather here is a nice variation from the standard black:
Okay, while I’m normally reluctant to look to the Olsen twins for fashion given that I still picture them as eight year olds and given how very un-boho my tastes are, I have to admit that Elizabeth and James has some awfully cute stuff:
I’m too broad in the shoulder to get away with puffed sleeves, but this Nanette Lepore coat is the sweetest thing I’ve seen in a long time:
